CPR PRO TRAINING

CPR PRO - $55 (includes student book and certification card)

The American Safety and Health Institute - CPR for the Professional Rescuer, also known as CPR -PRO, is designed for EMT's, Paramedic's, Nurses, Doctor's and any other person who is required by their job to provide life saving skills. This program teaches students the basics of professional level basic life support. This course is recognized bye the CECBEMS, JAHCO, and the NREMT.

Students who successfully complete this program will receive certification through American Safety and Health Institute in CPR for the Professional Rescuer (equivalent to AHA BLS for Health Care Professionals). Students will be required to score an acceptable score on the written examination as well as demonstrate proficiency in the following items (these items taken directly from ASHI Program Standards Form):

  • Place an unresponsive breathing victim in a recovery position
  • Perform effective rescue breathing with a pocket mask and bag-mask device (with or without supplemental oxygen).
  • Perform effective chest compressions.
  • Perform effective CPR with 1 and 2 or more rescuers.
  • Safely and correctly attach and operate an AED. Coordinate CPR and AED to minimize interruptions in chest compressions.
  • Perform the steps to manage choking in the responsive and unresponsive victim.
  • Demonstrate proper removal of contaminated gloves.

This course follows the ECC 2005 guidelines set by the American Heart Association. Please make sure you verify with your employer if ASHI will suffice for your certification needs. not all facilities accept ASHI, some will require that you have American Heart Association CPR for the Professional Rescuer.

Hands on Skill Practice - Students will practice essential skills in small group practices and can also apply those skills in optional scenario-based practices.

Payment is expected at the time of the class; certification card will be handed out at the end of class.
